RAPID TESTING REQUEST FOR CAMPERS – NEW –

Rapid Testing Request for Campers

With Covid-19 cases on the rise in Ontario and surrounding areas we are asking that everyone coming to camp from week 3 onward take a rapid test within 12 hours before arriving at camp. Our top priority is to keep our campers and staff safe and healthy while enjoying a week at camp and this is an important step to help us achieve this.

Just to reiterate:

·     We ask that all campers arriving in camp on Saturday please take a rapid test within 12 hours before arriving at camp (and test negative for Covid-19).

·     We ask that all guests arriving in camp during the week please take a rapid test within 12 hours before arriving at camp (and test negative for Covid-19).

·     All campers and guests must complete an online symptom screening before arriving at camp.

As much as we would all like Covid-19 to be over it is not, and it is important that we all continue to do our part to keep each other healthy and our camp open. If you or someone in your family test positive OR if you are experiencing any of the symptoms on the RPC Covid-19 online screening (see below) PLEASE stay home until you recover.

Rapid tests are standard, off the shelf, self-perform kits that are available around most communities. Pharmacies and even some corner stores and grocery stores now have them to hand out for free. We are not asking for any pharmacist performed tests.

We know this is short notice for week 3 campers and apologize for this. If you are having trouble finding tests please email janetcottreau@redpinecamp.org.

As you have seen from previous emails, outside dining is available for a limited number if requested ahead of time. While in camp we encourage all of our campers, however, to take advantage of the gorgeous outdoor spaces in camp and take your food outside to eat at the picnic tables situated around the Dining Hall.

We are so lucky to have such a fabulous outdoor environment to enjoy together even during these continuingly unsettling times of Covid-19!

Sincerely,

Janet Cottreau (she/her)

ONLY Complete this if you NEED to be seated outdoors at meals

We are finalizing our plans for food service this summer and need some information. We realized after sending out the initial email that our instructions were not clear. ONLY those requiring outdoor seating for meals need to fill out this form.

We have LIMITED outdoor space available under the tent for campers who are immune compromised, have family health issues, or are uncomfortable about eating in the Dining Hall. If this is you, please complete the form below. This form MUST be completed at least 7 days before arriving at camp.

PLEASE DO NOT request a table outside if this is just a personal preference, we would like to hold the outdoor spaces we have for those in need.

Regarding the summer 2022 camping season, and Covid Vaccination requirements:

at this point, we are anticipating that all of our staff will be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID19 as part of their employment or volunteer agreement. Currently, it is unclear as to what the government and local health unit will require for campers to attend overnight camps in Ontario. We predict that campers over 12 may/will be required to be fully vaccinated to attend overnight camp. Please note as an organization that operates under the approval of both the local health unit and the provincial government, the decision for vaccination is out of our control.
