Join Us In “100 for 100”

June 13th, 2017

For so many of us who belong to this community, Red Pine Camp is a touchstone, a sense of place, a fellowship that sustains us throughout the year.

In 2025, Red Pine turns 100 years old. As the centenary approaches, we are working hard to refresh and rebuild the cabins for generations of campers to follow.

This summer, cabins 11, 34 and 35 have been rebuilt under the leadership of RPC campers and architects Diane Whalen and Tom Laverty. The new cabins are beautiful!

Cabin Renovations Well Under Way

The Cabin Rebuild project is well under way.  The old cabins #11, 34 and 35 have been taken down and the new structures are in the building phase.

A-Dock and Extreme Flooding on Golden Lake

Hello Red Pine Campers

You may have heard that the Bonnechere Watershed is experiencing extensive flooding this year. Water levels on Golden Lake are the highest they have been in 20 years and they have been affecting residents, cottagers, and Red Pine Camp as well.

In fact, the water is so high that — for the first time ever — the top wooden deck of A-Dock floated off the underlying support structure. We are fortunate to have great neighbours on Island View Drive who immediately notified us. Our Property Managers Rick and Tom Read the rest of this entry »
